Fat Robin Orchard & Farm in Polson, Montana is a certified-organic Flathead Lake orchard — about 70 miles south of Kalispell and 90 miles north of Missoula — with cherries (July-August, the famous Flathead cherry harvest), apples (August-October), and other berries. The Flathead Lake region is Montana's marquee fruit-growing area, with the lake's microclimate moderating temperatures enough for cherries and apples. Smaller family-run operation; visits are by appointment. Mission Mountains views from the orchard porch are exceptional.
What to expect
Drive Highway 35 along Flathead Lake's east shore to Polson. The orchard is on Finley Point Road (extending into the lake). By appointment only — call or email ahead. Pick-your-own cherries (July-August), apples, and other berries by season. Smaller scale than larger Flathead Lake commercial cherry operations. Pair with the Flathead Lake scenic drive, the National Bison Range (45 minutes south), or Glacier National Park (90 minutes north).
