Mrs. Heather's Strawberry Farm in Hammond, Louisiana is the Hammond-area pick-your-own destination — about an hour north of New Orleans, in southeast Louisiana's strawberry-growing region (the 'Strawberry Capital of the South' is Ponchatoula, just south of Hammond). Louisiana's distinct winter-spring strawberry season (March-May, sometimes earlier) makes Mrs. Heather's one of the few Louisiana pick-your-own operations and a regional spring tradition.
