Carlsbad Strawberry Company is the iconic North San Diego County strawberry pick-your-own — about 30 miles north of downtown San Diego — running in California's distinct strawberry season (mostly April-July) on the bluff above the Pacific. The farm has operated continuously since the 1990s and has become one of the regional fall agritourism destinations with the addition of pumpkins, sunflowers, and the seasonal corn maze. The Carlsbad ocean-bluff location is unique: most California strawberry farms are inland Central Valley; this one has Pacific views from the rows.
What to expect
Drive I-5 north of San Diego to the Cannon Road exit in Carlsbad. The farm is signed. Park at the main lot. Strawberry picking runs April-July (peak May-June). Sunflowers (June-September) and the fall pumpkin patch (October) extend the season. The on-site farm market handles year-round visitors. Pair with the Carlsbad Flower Fields (adjacent, March-May, the iconic ranunculus fields), Legoland California (5 minutes north), or Encinitas/Oceanside beaches.
